ABOUT US

Hello! We are Jon and Brie Overcash, your guides in this incredible wine region we call home.

Our story began in Marlborough, New Zealand where Brie was working as White Winemaker at Saint Clair and Jon was in vineyards working for Clos Henri (Henri Bourgeois). We met through friends and the love was real.

The following year Jon, an American collage basketball player, dislocated his shoulder (again) playing pick up with kiwi friends. The subsequent shoulder reconstruction meant he was unable to work in the vineyard for a few months, so he took a in the Cellar Door at Moa Brewery… and loved it! He discovered his true passion was in sharing his love of wine.

We moved back to Australia when our children were born. When the kids were old enough and Brie was ready to go back to work, we traveled all of the wine growing regions of Australia to work out where we wanted to raise our family. When we first arrived in Willunga, McLaren Vale, Jon took a deep breath and said “This is it!”

McLaren Vale is a special place. We make beautiful wine, but it’s more than that. McLaren Vale has heart. The community is close knit, supportive and kind. We celebrate the region together and see success in each other’s accomplishments.

Since moving to McLaren Vale Jon has worked in many Cellar Doors including; Fox Creek, Coriole, Beach Road, McLaren Vale 3 and Associates and Swell Brewery, just to name a few. In 2017 he was awarded a “Star of McLaren Vale” by McLaren Vale Wine and Tourism for his work in the Cellar Door at Coriole. He also sits on the Mclaren Vale Wine Show committee and has been Chief Steward since 2023.

During this time Brie worked at McLaren Vintners, contract Winemaking for Dandelion, Dog Ridge, Some Young Punks, Hugh Hamilton and Tomich, to name a few. After 2 years at Vintners she was asked to help establish SA Wine Co; a 5000ton Contract Winemaking facility in Currency Creek, just south of McLaren Vale. With Brie as their Senior Winemaker, SA Wine Co. quickly grew to be the fourth largest winery in the Fleurieu. After 7 years at the helm, Brie decided to was time for a change and stepped back to boutique Winemaking for Chapel Hill in McLaren Vale.

After years of working at the top of the wine industry, Brie has decided it is time to slow down. With her wealth of knowledge of McLaren Vale and the wine industry, combined with her friendly personality, Brie is an incredible asset as a wine tour guide.

We live, with our family, in Willunga, McLaren Vale. This is our home. We spend our exploring the regions many Cellar Doors, Beaches, Art houses and forests.

We want to share McLaren Vale with you and show you all the beauty this region has to offer.

Let us show you…….
